Biography

Mark began his musical career in 1978 enrolling at Oklahoma City University, studying percussion with K.Dean Walker and upright bass with Horace Apgar. Learning rapidly and taking on all gigs that came along, Mark played many different types of music: jazz, orchestra, stage shows and sacred music, appearing on stage with jazz artists and educators Clark Terry, Ed Shaunessy, Milt Hinton and Tony Williams, even playing in Bob Hope's orchestra 3 times. He also taught percussion in the summer opera camps in Eureka Springs, AR and Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, TX.

Mark learned to play country music in the clubs around Oklahoma City at night and has played country music almost exclusively for the last 15 yrs, doing short stints in the bands of Joe Nichols and Linda Davis as well as opening the show for too many artists to mention.

Mark is a proud member of the Urban Cowboy band for almost 5 yrs and looks forward to many more.
